RULES & NON NEGOTIABLIES
INCOGNICO is a Brooklyn annual screenless art show, a series. A space where creatives, artists and people in the community can safely engage with each other (there is no drinking or smoking allowed at any and every show, you can always go outside during intermissions or at any time) and authentically consume art, without distractions. This is a community event series, tickets sales go directly to the community and local performing artists- possibly your neighbor.
Everyone is welcome and participation is encouraged for future shows, but welcomed guests, and especially artists, must agree to respect INCOGNICOs code of conduct.
This applies to artists at all times!
If you choose to enter any space associated with INCOGNICO you are agreeing to act by this
code of conduct (or you will be asked to leave the show…audience member or not):
RESPECT EACH OTHER
-INCOGNICO is founded & created by a queer BIPOC. There will be absolutely no racism, homophobia, transphobia, bullying, or discrimination of any kind. I am not even slightly joking, I will, personally, escort you out of the room and/or remove you from the show.
RESPECT THE SHOW
-INCOGNICO is screenless and devoted to remaining that way. This is to ensure the least amount of distractions and as possible. So, the people involved and the people watching can maximize their art digest. Please respect this :) you always have the option to leave the room, then pull out your phone.
EXAMINE YOUR PRIVILEGE
-Be aware of your privileges and prejudices. That is a large part of this art series, being aware of where you live and what it took for it to become that way. What led you to New York City? Where do you live? How accessible is your local art store? Has this impacted your creativity? Would you notice an impact if you moved? And how can one give back to a city that has provided so much?
BE ACTIVE
-INCOGNICO is constant change and exchange. Become a part of the space and start a dialogue, respond, contribute and help reshape it. My contact is always available for questions or outreach :P
BE KIND
-This is a safe space for other artists to grow and flourish with support and love, from their community and beyond. Please be kind to each other and the experience itself.
& BE OPEN
-INCOGNICO is a space where differences of opinion and experience can be shared. Where the community can perform, socialize together and seek more knowledge about the art, or the artist. Remain curious & ask questions. **Anyone can be an artist, whether it's nourished or not.**
